  WELCOME TO WARCCC

WARCCC began on the Bancroft Crescent site during the mid-80’s and quickly became a popular venue for a sport that had begun overseas in the 70’s. Popularity at the site swayed through the decades with a resurgence in interest occurring around 8 years ago. In 2012 the club gained ‘incorporated society’ status and began taking paid memberships. This was to necessitate the ongoing maintenance, infrastructure development and club growth.

What makes our club great is its members, they range from as young as 4 years old to our retired members who may have stopped counting. With the help of these members who have volunteered their precious hours, the clubs site has evolved, from the initial incantation in the 1980s to the site that is today.

Our clubs track is used widely by the public to hone their racing skills for when they compete in nationwide events. It is also used by people who are not necessarily interested in the competitive side but who just want to have some good fun with a hobby that is all-inclusive. Not only does the site accommodate the traditional RC racer, but members also took the initiative in 2012 to create an area that caters to RC rock crawling vehicles. This is a very rare, purpose-built facility.

We have held several competitions for crawlers with competitors travelling from as far afield as Tauranga and Taranaki. It has always been an ‘end goal’ for the club to hold regular events and to have a well-maintained facility. And, as memberships and volunteer hours grow, we are getting closer to achieving

that exact goal. We look forward to developing the club into a premier group. One that any RC enthusiast would be proud to be a part of.
